Table 1 NERS Generic Pathway Criteria

From: Protocol for a feasibility randomised controlled trial of the use of Physical ACtivity monitors in an Exercise Referral Setting: the PACERS study

For referral into the NERS generic pathway, patients must:

 - Be aged 16 years or above;

 - Be sedentary (defined as not moderately active for 3 times per week or deconditioned through age or inactivity);

 - Have at least one of the following:

  ○ Raised blood pressure 140/90,

  ○ BMI > 28,

  ○ Cholesterol > 5.0,

  ○ Controlled diabetes or impaired glucose intolerance,

  ○ Family history of heart disease or diabetes,

  ○ At risk of osteoporosis and/or musculoskeletal pain,

  ○ Mild arthritis or poor mobility,

  ○ Mild-moderate COPD, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema,

  ○ Mild anxiety, depression or stress, multiple sclerosis.
